Smart Money Concepts (SMC) Trading Bot — Automated Order Blocks, FVG & Liquidity Sweeps

Codify Smart Money Concepts into automated execution. Learn how the Morpheus AI engine algorithmically identifies institutional order blocks, fair value gaps (FVG), breaker blocks, and liquidity purges.

What is Smart Money Concepts (SMC) Algorithmic Trading?

Smart Money Concepts (SMC) is an institutional market analysis framework that views price movement through the lens of large banks, market makers, and liquidity providers. Rather than viewing markets as random walk or chart pattern geometries, SMC understands that price moves specifically to balance liquidity and fill resting orders.

While many manual traders struggle to identify valid order blocks objectively, the Morpheus AI engine codifies SMC rules into mathematical algorithms, eliminating human emotion and confirmation bias.

Automating Order Block Identification & Invalidation

An institutional Order Block (OB) is the last opposing candle before an aggressive expansion that breaks market structure. But not every candle is a valid order block. Morpheus applies three strict mathematical filters:

  1. 1Imbalance Creation: The subsequent candle must leave an unfilled Fair Value Gap (FVG).
  2. 2Break of Structure (BOS): The expansion must decisively close beyond the previous swing high or low.
  3. 3Liquidity Sweep Preceding: The order block must have purged previous liquidity before the reversal.

Fair Value Gaps (FVG) and Imbalance Fill Confirmation

When market makers deploy massive capital, they create a 3-candle price imbalance known as a Fair Value Gap (FVG). Because the interbank algorithm seeks fair value delivery, price will almost always retrace into this imbalance before continuing its macro trend.

Morpheus monitors these gaps dynamically, placing limit orders or waiting for lower-timeframe shift confirmations inside the FVG zone.

Internal vs External Liquidity Sweeps

A key breakthrough in Morpheus’s architecture is distinguishing between internal and external liquidity pools. Entering inside consolidation results in endless chop. The algorithm waits for external liquidity (equal highs, equal lows, previous day highs/lows) to be purged before taking the reversal back toward internal equilibrium.

💡 Pro tips

  • •Never trade order blocks against the prevailing 4H and Daily trend — counter-trend order blocks get blown through easily.
  • •Use the Morpheus Liquidity Map tool to see exact stop hunt price levels visually before placing your orders.
  • •Combine SMC order blocks with Candle Range Theory (CRT) timing for the highest win rate execution.
